Ingredients

The tofu

  • 14 ounce extra firm tofu
  • ½ inch ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic

The marinade

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

For cooking

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Slice the pressed tofu into triangles or thin squares.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the marinade ingredients: apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.
  4. Add the tofu to the marinade and ensure it is fully coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
  6. Remove the tofu from the marinade and add it to the pan, reserving the marinade.
  7. Pan-fry the tofu for about 3-5 minutes on each side until golden.
  8. Add the reserved marinade to the pan until reduced and the tofu is golden.
