Marinated Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 lb block of tofu

The marinade

  • ¼ cup light soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 4 teaspoons agave
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons water

For cooking

  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Press and cube the tofu, then toss it with soy sauce in a bowl.
  2. Add all marinade ingredients to the tofu and mix well, letting it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the marinated tofu, cooking until browned on all sides.
  4. While cooking, whisk cornstarch into the leftover marinade.
  5. Once tofu is cooked, add the marinade to the pan and stir, allowing it to thicken for a couple of minutes before serving.
