How to Cook Fresh Green Beans

Instructions
- 1. Wash and trim the green beans, then set a large pot of salted water to boil.
- 2. Drop the trimmed beans into the boiling water and blanch for 2 minutes.
- 3. Immediately transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water to cool completely for about 15 seconds.
- 4. Drain the beans and place them on paper towels to dry.
- 5. Toss the blanched beans with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper, or use them in other recipes.
