Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter until pale and fluffy using a mixer.
  4. Add the granulated and brown sugars, mixing until smooth, then add the egg and vanilla, blending well.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just blended, then stir in the oats and raisins.
  6. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, then transfer to wire racks to cool.
