Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

The dry ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoons cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 cups raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper if desired.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, dark brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in the raisins until just combined.
  7. Using a ¼ cup scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them out.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are light brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
