Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup raisins
  • cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together using a mixer on medium speed.
  4. Add the egg, maple syrup, apple sauce, and vanilla extract to the mixture and combine.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the oats, raisins, and walnuts.
  6. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges are light brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
