Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups rolled old fashioned oats

The mix-ins

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the oats, raisins, and walnuts.
  6. Scoop the dough into 1 ½-inch balls and place them on the baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look under-baked.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
