Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium bananas)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter or oil
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark-coated pans) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter or oil, sour cream, peanut butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips (if using) and stir until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
