Italian Sausage, Peppers and Onions with Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage links
  • 9 oz mixed color bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 2 oz sliced onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup Rao's Marinara Sauce
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. For the skillet method, grill sausages and slice them into rounds, or slice them before cooking and brown in a skillet with oil for 8-10 minutes.
  2. 2. Remove the sausage from the pan and slice the peppers and onion while the sausage cooks.
  3. 3. Heat oil in the pan and sauté the vegetables with garlic until softened, about 10 minutes.
  4. 4. Add the sausage back to the pan along with any juices, then stir in the Marinara sauce and adjust seasoning.
  5. 5. For the sheet pan method, slice the sausage, peppers, and onions, then toss with oil and bake at 400°F for 40 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  6. 6. After baking, transfer to a bowl, add warmed Marinara sauce, and serve.
