Ingredients

The vegetables

  • 12 oz fresh washed and trimmed green beans

The flavorings

  • 1 tablespoon light butter spread
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

The garnish

  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium-low heat.
  2. Add the green beans and season with salt and pepper, stirring to coat.
  3. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring once.
  4. Uncover, add minced garlic and sliced almonds, and stir.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-4 minutes until the almonds are golden and the beans are tender.
