Sausage Pizza Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 lb. ground pork or Italian sausage
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ΒΌ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 24 oz. marinara sauce
  • 8 oz. pasta, any kind
  • to taste grated parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium/high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ground pork, cooking until the pork is fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Stir in cherry tomatoes and cook for about 3 minutes.
  4. Add marinara sauce and fresh basil, bringing the sauce to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Cook 8 oz. of pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and toss well.
  8. Top with grated parmesan cheese before serving.
