Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour and salt.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add it to the creamed mixture alternately with the dry ingredients.
- Reduce mixer speed to low and mix in chocolate chips, pecans, and oats until just combined.
- Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden around the edges.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
