Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons instant or active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 to 2 ¼ cups all-purpose or bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil

The topping

  • 1 tablespoon garlic herb seasoning
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and place a baking stone or overturned baking sheet in the oven.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, letting it sit until foamy.
  3. Add salt and flour, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough in the bowl until smooth, then cover and let it rise until puffy for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Grease a half sheet pan and press the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Brush the dough with melted butter or olive oil and sprinkle with garlic herb seasoning.
  7. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Cut into strips and serve.
