Ingredients

The rolls

  • 1 bag frozen Rhodes Rolls unbaked dough
  • cups sugar
  • zest from 1 very large or 2 medium oranges
  • ½ stick butter melted

The glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ tablespoon butter melted
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Thaw the rolls until they are thawed but not risen.
  2. Mix sugar and orange zest in a shallow bowl until the sugar becomes a pale orange color.
  3. Take each dough ball and stretch it into a 6-inch rope.
  4. Dip the rope in melted butter and then roll it in the sugar mixture.
  5. Tie the rope in a knot and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Let the dough rise until it is about double in size.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F until browned, about 20 minutes.
  8. Whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth.
  9. Let the rolls cool until just warm before drizzling on the glaze.
