Ingredients

The quinoa

  • 1 cup quinoa

The cooking water

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer under cold water.
  2. In a pot, combine the rinsed quinoa, water, and kosher salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Boil the quinoa for 8 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the centers become transparent.
  5. Drain the quinoa using a fine mesh strainer.
  6. Return the quinoa to the pot, fluff with a fork, and cover with a kitchen towel and lid to let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Serve warm, or spread on a baking sheet to cool.
