Ingredients

The quinoa

  • 1 cup dry quinoa

The liquid

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup broth (optional, can be mixed with water)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer if it is not pre-rinsed.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the quinoa and water (and broth if using) over medium-high heat.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
  5. Fluff with a spoon, fork, or spatula and serve.
  6. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
