Ingredients

The quinoa

  • 1 cup uncooked quinoa

The cooking liquid

  • 2 cups broth or water
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

For toasting

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa under running water until the water runs clear.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and toast the quinoa for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the broth or water and sea salt to the pan, and bring to a boil.
  4. Lower the heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the water is absorbed and the quinoa is fluffy, remove from heat and fluff with a fork.
  6. Let the quinoa rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
