Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing sugar, active dry yeast, and lukewarm water, then let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Combine all-purpose flour, kosher salt, and egg in a bowl, then add the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Knead the dough with a stand mixer or by hand until smooth, then incorporate the softened butter and knead until elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Press the dough to release air, then divide it into 18 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
- Place the shaped buns in a lined baking pan and let them rise for 30 to 45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C), brush the buns with melted butter, and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush more melted butter on top while still warm and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
