Apple Cider

Instructions
- Combine apples, oranges, cinnamon, cloves, and sugar in a large stockpot over high heat.
- Cover with water, leaving 1 to 1½ inches at the top of the stockpot.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until apples are soft, about 2 hours.
- Using a potato masher, press the apples and oranges against the sides of the pot to release their juices.
- Cover and simmer for an additional hour to meld flavors.
- Strain the cider through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl, discarding solids.
- Return the cider to the pot to keep warm and serve, garnished with cinnamon sticks and sliced oranges.
