Ingredients

The dough

  • 2 packets active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • cups milk
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg

For baking

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 spray baking spray

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water.
  2. Heat the milk with sugar, salt, and butter until lukewarm.
  3. Add the egg to the yeast mixture.
  4. Combine the yeast mixture, milk mixture, and flour, and stir well.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Knead the dough for 5 minutes using a stand mixer with a dough hook.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and divide it into 18 balls.
  9. Cover and let rise for 25 minutes.
  10. Spray a cast-iron skillet with baking spray and arrange the dough balls.
  11. Sprinkle kosher salt over the rolls.
  12. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
