Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Whisk the egg and water together in a small bowl and set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Cut the pastry into 12 even squares.
- Cut the brie into 1-inch squares.
- For the sweet and spicy version, place a spoonful of pepper jelly on each pastry square.
- For the fig version, mix fig jelly with balsamic vinegar and spoon over the cheese.
- Gather the corners of the pastry squares and pinch to seal.
- Place the bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with egg wash.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle green onions on the sweet and spicy bites if desired.
