Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Preserves

Ingredients

The pastry

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 large egg
  • splash none milk

The filling

  • ½ wedge brie
  • cup cherry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into thirds along the creases, then cut each panel into four rectangles.
  3. Brush half of the rectangles with the egg wash made from beaten egg and milk.
  4. Place a popsicle stick halfway up the puff pastry on the egg-washed rectangles, if desired.
  5. Add a small piece of brie on top of the egg wash, followed by about ½ teaspoon of cherry jam.
  6. Top with another rectangle of puff pastry, pressing to seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  8. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
