Instructions
- Combine blackberries and maple syrup in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, occasionally breaking up the berries.
- Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of cold water until dissolved.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and optional balsamic vinegar to the pot, simmer for an additional minute to thicken.
- Remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm before serving.
