Ingredients

  • 1 cup fine white masa harina flour
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • ½-1 tablespoon Homemade Taco Seasoning (optional)
  • Spray oil optional for the pan

Instructions

  1. Mix the masa harina, salt, and taco seasoning in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add warm water, mixing until the dough is soft and slightly grainy.
  3. Form the dough into a ball and let it rest in a ziplock bag for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Prepare a plastic bag for pressing the tortillas.
  5. Roll the dough into Ping-Pong sized balls.
  6. Flatten the balls using a tortilla press or a heavy book.
  7. Heat a pan over medium heat and lightly oil it if necessary.
  8. Cook each tortilla for about 30 seconds on one side, then flip and cook for another 20 seconds.
  9. Transfer cooked tortillas to a tortilla warmer or clean kitchen towel to steam.
