Ingredients

The French Toast

  • 1 slice French Baguette
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 whole egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • splash milk

The Cinnamon Syrup

  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ T all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into thick slices.
  2. Mix together the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and milk in a shallow dish.
  3. Dip the slices of bread into the egg mixture.
  4. Place the slices on a hot griddle and cook both sides until done.
  5. Serve with cinnamon syrup.
  6. For the syrup, whisk sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a saucepan.
  7. Add vanilla and water, and whisk until combined.
  8. Heat over medium for five minutes, whisking often.
  9. Remove from heat and whisk again.
  10. Serve syrup over French toast.
