Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package directions, then drain.
- In a large pot, heat olive oil and cook the sausage for about five minutes until browned.
- Remove the sausage, then sauté diced onion and minced garlic in the same pot for 2-3 minutes.
- Slice the sausage and return it to the pot, cooking until fully cooked.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, salt, pepper, and brown sugar to the pot and stir.
- Add the frozen broccoli and spinach, stirring until heated through.
- Combine the drained pasta with the sauce and stir in crumbled feta before serving.
