Ingredients

The turkey

  • 1 piece bone-in turkey breast (2-7 pounds)

The seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground thyme
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

The broth and vegetables

  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup broth (chicken recommended)

The fat

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Pat the turkey breast dry and rub the spices into both sides.
  2. Pour broth into the slow cooker and add onions.
  3. Place the seasoned turkey breast over the broth and add butter on top.
  4. Cook on Low for 6-7 hours for a 5-7 pound breast or 3-5 hours for a 2-4 pound breast.
  5. Ensure the turkey reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees.
  6. Remove the turkey from the slow cooker carefully.
  7. For crispy skin, broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes or use an air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 400 degrees.
  8. Allow the turkey to rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
