Ingredients

The dough

  • cups scalded milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup potato flakes
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon Fleischmann’s RapidRise yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups all-purpose flour

For brushing

  • tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a saucepan until it foams at the edges, then remove from heat.
  2. Add sugar, butter, potato flakes, and salt to the milk and mix well; let cool to lukewarm.
  3. Stir in yeast and eggs until combined.
  4. In a large bowl, combine flour with the milk mixture to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise for one hour.
  6. Divide the dough into four portions and roll each into a 10-inch circle.
  7. Spread soft butter on one circle, place another circle on top, and seal the edges.
  8. Cut into 8 triangles and roll each triangle from the wide end to form a crescent.
  9. Place rolls on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another hour.
  10. Bake at 350°F (176°C) for 14-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Brush with melted butter before serving.
