Hotdish Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients

  • 32 oz Frozen Tater Tots
  • 1½ - 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • ¼ tsp Thyme, dried
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 cups Frozen Mixed Vegetables
  • 1 10.5 oz can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 10.5 oz can Cream of Chicken Soup
  • cups Shredded Cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Spread the tater tots on a baking pan and bake for 15 minutes, then set aside.
  3. Lower the oven temperature to 350°F.
  4. Brown the meat and onion in a skillet, adding spices and soy sauce until the meat is cooked through.
  5. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  6. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray and add the meat mixture, spreading it evenly.
  7. Layer the frozen veggies over the meat mixture.
  8. Mix the two cans of soup and spread over the veggies.
  9. Sprinkle 2 cups of cheese over the soup layer.
  10. Arrange the tater tots on top to cover the surface.
  11. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until bubbling.
  12. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and return to the oven to melt.
  13. Let stand for about 5 minutes before serving.
