Ingredients

The popcorn

  • 5 quarts plain air popped popcorn

The caramel

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The mix-ins

  • 20 fun size Twix candy bars, chopped
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  2. Place the popcorn in a large bowl and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt, and bring to a boil while stirring constantly.
  5. Boil without stirring for 4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the caramel over the popcorn in a thin stream, stirring to coat.
  8. Spread the popcorn on two large baking sheets and bake, stirring every 15 minutes, for about an hour.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  10. Break the popcorn into pieces and mix in the chopped Twix candy bars.
  11. Drizzle the popcorn with melted chocolate and let sit until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  12. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
