Ingredients

The burger

  • 1 package Simple Truth Natural Ground Bison (12-ounce)
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 slices Havarti cheese
  • 3 pieces Hamburger buns
  • to taste Dijon mustard

The toppings

  • 3 large leaves Red leaf lettuce
  • 2-3 rings Yellow onion
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes (sliced)
  • 1 piece Avocado (peeled, seeded, and sliced)
  • to taste Sprouts (such as broccoli, alfalfa, or radish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the bison into three portions and form into patties about 3½ to 4 inches wide. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the patties on the grill for about 3 minutes on each side until done to your liking. Add cheese to each patty and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until melted.
  4. Toast the buns on the grill for about 1 minute on each side.
  5. Spread Dijon mustard on both sides of the buns. Layer with lettuce, onion, avocado, bison patty, tomato, and sprouts. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve with chips.
