Instructions
- Combine the whole wheat and all-purpose flours in a large bowl and mix well.
- Add the lard and work it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
- Dissolve the salt in the warm water and gradually add it to the flour mixture until a cohesive dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes until evenly mixed.
- Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape them into balls, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side until golden and bubbly.
- Stack the cooked tortillas on a plate and cover with a damp cloth to keep warm.
