Ingredients

The dough

  • cups almond flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract

For dusting

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • to taste flaked almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the almond flour and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until medium peaks form, then fold them into the dry mixture along with the almond extract.
  4. Roll the dough into 12 balls, dip them in powdered sugar, and place them on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, optionally adding flaked almonds halfway through.
  6. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.
