Ingredients

BBQ Sauce

  • ¾ cup Guinness stout
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon, lime or orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • dash hot sauce or crushed red pepper

Pork Burgers

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Guinness stout
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 slices Muenster or other white cheese, cut into 6 pieces
  • 6 mini buns slider buns
  • as desired burger toppings

Instructions

  1. Whisk together BBQ sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan on high heat until boiling, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-22 minutes until thickened.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground pork, mustard, stout, garlic, salt, and pepper, then form into 6 small patties.
  3. Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add cheese slices to the burgers during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Toast the buns in the same pan for 30-60 seconds.
  6. Assemble the sliders with the patties, BBQ sauce, and desired toppings.
