Ingredients

  • 22 oz russet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼-½” sticks
  • tablespoons canola oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F and prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Soak the potato sticks in hot water for 10-30 minutes, then drain and dry them.
  3. Place the potato sticks in a Ziploc bag, add the oil, seal, and shake to coat.
  4. Add salt to the bag, seal, and shake again to distribute the salt.
  5. Spread the potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 5 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-25 minutes until golden.
  7. Flip the potatoes, rotate the pan, and continue baking for another 5-15 minutes until evenly golden.
  8. Season with additional salt if desired and serve warm.
