Oven Baked French Fries

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F.
- Soak the potatoes in hot tap water for 10 minutes.
- Drizzle oil onto a baking sheet and tilt to coat evenly.
- Drain the potatoes and dry them thoroughly with paper towels.
- Sprinkle the baking sheet with salt and pepper.
- Spread the potatoes in an even layer on the baking sheet.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
- Turn the potatoes to the opposite side and bake for an additional 7-10 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and season with additional salt if desired.
