Ingredients

The fries

  • 1 pound Russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

The seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)

For soaking

  • 2 tablespoons salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Slice the potatoes into 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch pieces.
  3. Fill a large bowl with cold water and stir in 2 tablespoons of salt.
  4. Soak the sliced potatoes in the salt water for 15 to 30 minutes.
  5. Drain the potatoes and dry them well with a towel.
  6. Return the potatoes to a dry bowl and toss them with olive oil.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the seasoning ingredients together.
  8. Sprinkle the seasoning over the fries and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Arrange the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the fries for even crisping.
  11. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  12. Serve warm with your favorite dip.
