Hawaiian Kalua Pork

Ingredients

The pork

  • 2 lbs pork roast

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Wright’s Hickory Liquid Smoke
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown the pork in oil on both sides for about 3 minutes per side in the Instant Pot.
  2. 2. Remove the pork and add water, liquid smoke, soy sauce, and brown sugar to the pot.
  3. 3. Return the pork and its juices to the pot and sprinkle salt on top.
  4. 4. Set the Instant Pot to High Pressure for 60 minutes.
  5. 5. Allow the pressure to release naturally for about 20 minutes before removing the lid.
  6. 6. Shred the pork with two forks and serve immediately with steamed rice.
