Instructions
- Slice the tempeh as thin as you can without letting it fall apart.
- Steam the tempeh for 10 minutes to remove bitterness and help it absorb flavors.
- In a bowl, whisk together the liquid smoke, maple syrup, soy sauce, and smoked paprika.
- Let the steamed tempeh cool slightly, then marinate it in the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated tempeh for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Serve the tempeh bacon in a sandwich, salad, or as desired.
