Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Toppings

  • cup bottled Italian salad dressing
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • a pinch dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough lightly for a few minutes until it forms a rough ball.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise until puffy, about 30 to 60 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F and grease a half sheet pan with oil.
  6. Punch down the dough and press it into a rough oval shape on the pan.
  7. Brush the top with Italian dressing and sprinkle with herb mixture.
  8. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Let the bread rest for 10-20 minutes if desired, then bake for 15 minutes until golden and cheese is sizzling.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
