Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ¼ – ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese and milk just until moistened.
  4. Drop the dough by ¼ cupfuls onto an un-greased baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake at 450°F for 12-15 minutes or until light golden brown.
  6. Serve warm.
