Instructions
- Ensure the butter is very cold by placing it in the freezer for about ten minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together.
- Cut the cold butter into small cubes or grate it into the dry ingredients and mix until it resembles small pebbles.
- Stir in the grated cheese and chopped chives until well blended.
- Add the buttermilk and mix gently until just combined to form a shaggy dough.
- Scoop out ¼ cup portions of the dough and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet, making six biscuits.
- Bake the biscuits for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
