Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • ½ cup grated Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped Chives or Green Onions
  • ½ cup Buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Ensure the butter is very cold by placing it in the freezer for about ten minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together.
  4. Cut the cold butter into small cubes or grate it into the dry ingredients and mix until it resembles small pebbles.
  5. Stir in the grated cheese and chopped chives until well blended.
  6. Add the buttermilk and mix gently until just combined to form a shaggy dough.
  7. Scoop out ¼ cup portions of the dough and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet, making six biscuits.
  8. Bake the biscuits for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
