Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and chives.
- Add the buttermilk and mix until the dough comes together.
- Scoop out heaping ¼ cup portions of dough and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden.
- Serve warm.
