Ingredients

The marinade

  • 3 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
  • Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 tsp lime zest
  • Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

The salmon

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets, skin-on or skinless
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • as needed lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix together brown sugar, lime juice, lime zest, butter, garlic, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a dish and coat them with the lime mixture, ensuring all sides are covered.
  3. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 425°F.
  4. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and place the salmon on it, leaving space between fillets.
  5. Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake the salmon for about 12 to 15 minutes until it flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Sprinkle with cilantro and serve warm with lime wedges.
