Salted Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 ounces coarsely chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chocolate chips
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • to taste sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Melt the chopped chocolate with the butter in a heatproof bowl, either in a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently.
  4. Transfer the melted chocolate mixture to an electric mixer, add sugar, eggs, and vanilla, and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture on low speed, then fold in the chocolate and peanut butter chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoonfuls of the batter onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart, and sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cookies are flat and the surfaces begin to crack.
  8. Transfer the cookies on parchment to wire racks to cool.
  9. Serve immediately or store in a sealed container for up to 3 weeks.
