Ingredients

The base

  • 1 ½ cups old fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed
  • ¼ tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 cup almond butter
  • cup pure maple syrup

The topping

  • cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup roasted salted almonds

Instructions

  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix oats, flaxseed, and salt. Add almond butter and maple syrup, mixing until thick.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the lined baking dish using wet hands.
  4. Melt chocolate chips and remaining almond butter in 20-second increments until smooth.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate over the bars and spread evenly. Top with crushed almonds if desired.
  6. Freeze for about an hour until chocolate is hardened, then slice into 16 bars.
