Homemade Cashew Butter

Ingredients

The cashew butter

  • 2 cup raw cashew halves
  • pinch sea salt
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil

Optional flavorings

  • to taste cinnamon
  • to taste maple syrup
  • to taste vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Optionally grind the cashews in a blender before transferring to a food processor.
  2. Add the salt and any desired mix-ins to the food processor and blend for 5 minutes.
  3. Scrape the sides of the processor and mix, then blend again in 5-minute increments.
  4. Continue blending for about 15-20 minutes until smooth, adding coconut oil in the last 5 minutes if desired.
  5. Once smooth, pour into a glass jar and store.
