Ingredients

The shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)

The oil

  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or your preferred high-heat oil)

The seasonings

  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste freshly-ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler on your oven and arrange the baking rack about 5 inches away from the top heating element.
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and toss with oil until evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the shrimp to a baking sheet and arrange in an even layer without overlapping.
  4. Season the shrimp generously with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings.
  5. Broil the shrimp for 2 minutes or until they are bright reddish-pink and opaque.
  6. Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving dish.
  7. Serve warm or refrigerate for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
