Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce

Ingredients

The Burgers

  • 1 lb raw 99% lean ground turkey breast
  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach leaves
  • oz crumbled Feta cheese
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ¼ tsp dried rosemary
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced tomatoes

The Tzatziki Sauce

  • ¾ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • cup grated and squeezed dry cucumber
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¾ tsp dried dill weed

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground turkey, spinach, Feta cheese, 2 minced garlic cloves, egg, olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and rosemary in a mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, remaining minced garlic, lemon juice, and dill for the tzatziki sauce, then refrigerate for at least one hour.
  4. Cook the burger patties in a lightly misted nonstick grill pan or skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  5. Assemble each burger with lettuce, tomato, the cooked patty, and tzatziki sauce on a bun.
