Toasted Fluffernutters with Cabernet Chocolate Fondue

Ingredients

Cabernet Chocolate Fondue

  • 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 6 ounces milk or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cabernet
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
  • a pinch salt

Toasted Fluffernutters

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 4-8 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 4-8 tablespoons homemade marshmallow fluff or store bought

Homemade Marshmallow Fluff

  • 2 egg whites at room temperature
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar, divided
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • a pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the heavy cream over medium-low heat until it lightly boils.
  2. Add the chopped chocolate and whisk until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in Cabernet and optional espresso powder.
  4. Transfer to a fondue pot or keep warm over low heat.
  5. Toast the bread in a skillet with butter.
  6. Spread marshmallow fluff on one slice and peanut butter on another, then sandwich them.
  7. Repeat with remaining slices and start dipping immediately.
